Terms of use and service

Last updated September 2026

This page is written as a starting point in plain language. Please have it reviewed by a qualified adviser before relying on it.

These terms cover the use of this website and appointments booked with Meraki, A Soul's Journey to Wellness in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Using the site, or booking a session, means agreeing to them.

Bookings and enquiries

A form submitted through this site is an enquiry, not a confirmed appointment. Your time is held only once it has been confirmed in writing.

Appointments booked through Vagaro are confirmed by Vagaro. Vagaro's own terms apply to that booking, and the cancellation policy below applies as well.

Nothing is charged through this website at any point.

Cancellations

We appreciate at least 24 hours' notice for appointment cancellations — it lets us respect everyone's time. Please wear comfortable clothing for Thai yoga massage, and come freshly showered for oil massage sessions.

Please cancel classes at least 48 hours in advance so someone on the waitlist can take the space. Cancellations inside that window can't be refunded or rescheduled — but if an emergency comes up, reach out directly and we'll find a way through it together.

Payment

Payment is due at the end of the session. Accepted methods: Visa & MasterCard, Discover, Cash.

Prices shown on this site are in Canadian dollars, include everything, and may change. The price quoted when your appointment is confirmed is the price you pay.

Gift cards

A gift-card request sent through this site is a request, not a purchase. We reply with how to pay and how the card will reach you; the card is issued once payment is received.

Gift cards can be put toward any session. They do not expire, and no fees are deducted from the balance over time. They cannot be exchanged for cash except where the law requires it.

Please treat a gift card like cash. Tell us if one is lost and we will do what we can with the record we hold.

Shop, Manuscripts, Apothecary and Market

These pages are previews of what is coming. No orders are taken and no payments are processed through this website yet. "Join the list" simply sends us an email so we can let you know when something is ready.

Book titles, cover art, and product descriptions shown on those pages may change before anything goes on sale.

Who the sessions are for

The studio and its sessions are for adults. Please tell us before your first visit if there is anything we should know so the space works for you.

Scope of the work

Traditional Thai massage and related bodywork offered here support relaxation, mobility and general wellbeing. They are not medical treatment, diagnosis or physiotherapy, and they do not replace advice from a qualified health professional.

Please tell the practitioner about injuries, pregnancy, recent surgery, or any medical condition before the session begins so the work can be adapted or, where appropriate, declined.

Consent and conduct

You may pause, adjust or end a session at any time, for any reason, without explanation. Consent is checked throughout.

This is a professional practice. Any request for services of a sexual nature ends the session immediately, with the full fee payable, and no further appointments will be offered.

Lateness and missed appointments

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled time so the following guest is not kept waiting. If you arrive late, the remaining time is yours at the full fee.

Repeated missed appointments without notice may mean prepayment is asked for in future.

Reviews

The reviews quoted on this site were left publicly by clients on third-party listings and are reproduced as written, with first names and last initials only. They describe one person's experience and are not a promise of yours.

This website and its content

Content on this site is offered for general information and is written in good faith, but no guarantee of outcome is given or implied.

The writing, photographs, illustrations and the character Sathu the Sloth belong to Meraki, A Soul's Journey to Wellness. Please ask before reusing any of it.

To the extent Ontario law allows, the practice is not responsible for losses that come from relying on information on this website. Nothing on this page limits any right you have under Ontario consumer protection law.

Using this website

You are welcome to read, share links to, and print pages from this site for your own use. Please do not copy it wholesale, scrape it with automated tools, or present any part of it as your own.

Please do not use the forms to send anything unlawful, abusive or misleading, to impersonate someone else, or to test or probe the site's security. Submissions that look automated are quietly discarded.

The site is offered as it is, and while it is looked after with care, it may occasionally be unavailable or contain a mistake. If you spot one, an email is always welcome.

Personal information you send through the site is handled as the privacy policy describes, and what the site keeps in your browser is listed in the cookie policy. Both form part of these terms.

The private studio room

One part of this site is a private, password-protected room used by Shannon Scott to read the enquiries people send and to keep her appointment book, client cards and payment records. It is not open to the public. Attempting to sign in to it, guess a password, or reach the records behind it without her personal authorisation is prohibited, and sign-in attempts are recorded.

Anyone she does authorise agrees to keep what they see confidential, to use it only for the studio's own work, to sign out when finished, and never to share their password.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer in another country, nothing here takes away protections that your own law gives you and that cannot be waived.

If the terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. Questions about them can be emailed to meraki.asoulsjourney@gmail.com or sent to 283 Bay Street, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 1R7.
